November Meeting Presenter: Sarah Watts, NC Wildlife Federation-
Topic: Red Wolves in Eastern Carolina and our Wildlife Refuges
Sarah Watts is a North Carolina native who grew up on a beef cattle and hay production farm in Iredell County, NC. She graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from NC State, and has since worked in a variety of capacities for several state and federal agencies. Agencies including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, NC Wildlife Resources Commission, NC Division of Marine Fisheries, and NC Cooperative Extension. She began working for the NC Wildlife Federation in June of this year providing environmental education at Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, and increasing red wolf awareness and education at the Red Wolf Health and Education Center in Columbia, NC. She enjoys traveling, visiting National Parks, and fishing.
